Frequently asked questions

Do these QR codes expire?

No. This tool creates a static QR code: the destination URL is encoded directly into the pattern with no intermediate server. Nothing expires, there is no subscription, and it cannot break if a third party shuts down. The trade-off is that you cannot change the destination later, you would generate a new code.

Why does it still scan with a logo on top?

QR codes carry Reed-Solomon error correction. At level H (30%) a scanner can still recover the data even when nearly a third of the area is obscured, so a centred logo is safe. This tool switches you to level H automatically.

What should I watch out for when printing?

First, always keep the white quiet zone (4 modules or more), never trim it off. Second, print at 2cm × 2cm or larger, smaller codes often fail to scan. Third, hand your printer the SVG file. Fourth, avoid low-contrast colour pairs such as pale yellow on white.

Does this tool cost anything?

It is completely free and needs no sign-up. If you need dynamic QR codes (editable destination, scan analytics, per-branch tracking) that requires a backend system, so just contact us for a quote.

Do you log what I type?

No. All the work happens inside your browser and our server only serves a static page. You can verify this yourself: open your browser developer tools, switch to the Network panel and generate a code. Not a single request is sent.
